Queens Bar

Queens Bar

Located in the heart of downtown Detroit’s central business district, Queens Bar is a vibrant and inclusive gathering spot that embodies the city's authentic spirit. Since its opening in 2015, it has become a favorite destination for a diverse clientele, including sports fans, artists, industry workers, and business professionals.

Housed within the historic Nadell Furs Building—a Streamline Moderne Art Deco structure designed by Charles N. Agree in 1944—Queens Bar was the first step toward the building's revitalization. The renovation thoughtfully preserves and enhances the building's architectural heritage. The exterior features restored Art Deco elements, including a zinc canopy, custom wood doors with porthole windows, and the elegantly designed Queens script and sign.

Inside, the design echoes the building's sweeping curved façade. Bent maple plywood panels line the walls and central three-sided bar, while rounded details extend to custom booths and shelving, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. The use of salvaged materials and meticulous craftsmanship imbues the space with warmth and character, offering a tactile contrast to the surrounding urban landscape.

An expansive outdoor patio situated just below the People Mover provides additional gathering space, further enhancing the bar's appeal. Queens Bar's unpretentious design and welcoming environment reflect Detroit's resilient spirit, making it a cherished locale.
