Disbrow Iannuzzi’s Lakeside Residence Featured in Wallpaper Magazine

We’re proud to share that Wallpaper has featured Disbrow Iannuzzi’s Lakeside Residence in a recent editorial. The article highlights the home’s use of materials and how it ties to the client’s personal history.

Located in Birmingham, Michigan, the 4,000 sq. ft. home was designed as a permanent retreat for a former curator of Asian art. It features white ash throughout the interiors, and dark slate, which wraps the roof, walls, and driveway. Together, the materials reflect the client’s ties to the lumber industry and echo the mood of the Japanese woodblock prints in her collection.

“I want visitors to appreciate the nuanced use of wood and stone and how the perception of each can be dramatically different depending on how they are being used and the time of day,” said architect and studio co-founder Jonathan Disbrow. “I also want people to be drawn to the curated landscape scenes that are the focal points of each room.”

The feature reflects the studio’s focus on material expression and thoughtful site response, which continues to shape its growing portfolio of high-end custom residences in Michigan and beyond.
